- Dark Moon -

I have been working on this drawing since November, due to health problems and a little accident with a cat bite I didn't manage to complete it till now. I have put quite a bit of hours into it, which resulted in me feeling happy with the outcome, I think I managed to get a good expression and nice colour tones. I had a bit of conflict with myself about the placement and size of the moon but am happy with the decision to keep it big behind her, though it's not the most realistic I feel it adds something to the drawing as a whole. The girl is based on my friend but I really like how different her expression came out here, a little bit of darkness and mystery.
I wanted to do something in the lines of the work I did November 2007; The Broken Doll, The Fallen & Cry your heart out. They remain some of my favourite work I have done in pastel and I miss the darker side which hasn't been present much during 2009.
